Eddie Kingston Takes Break from Independent Scene Due to Injury

Eddie Kingston Takes Break from Independent Scene Due to Injury – Eddie Kingston is taking a hiatus from the independent wrestling scene due to a recent injury and his newfound championship responsibilities.

After securing the ROH World Title from Claudio Castagnoli at AEW Dynamite Grand Slam and retaining the NJPW Strong Openweight Title in a title vs. title match, Kingston had originally been scheduled to face Bryan Keith at Warrior Wrestling on October 6.

However, he took to Instagram to announce that he would not be fulfilling any independent bookings at this time. Kingston explained that he’s committed to being the best champion for both NJPW Strong and ROH, and that commitment takes precedence over independent bookings, especially in light of a recent back injury. His Instagram post read:

“I love the Independents but times have changed. I am truly sorry for not being able to do them right now. But I am truly no bullshit trying to be the best Champion for both NJPW strong and ROH and must put that above anything else right now. This sucks.”
