Chris Jericho & Kenny Omega Challenge Don Callis Family for AEW WrestleDream – In a surprising turn of events, former rivals Kenny Omega and Chris Jericho have come together and issued a challenge to the Don Callis Family for AEW WrestleDream, which takes place next Sunday.
This potential match came to fruition during tonight’s episode of AEW Rampage. When Konosuke Takeshita, Sammy Guevara, and Don Callis were attacking Chris Jericho, Kenny Omega rushed to his aid, running off the heel group. This unexpected alliance led to a tense staredown between Omega and Jericho.
In a backstage segment following the altercation, Chris Jericho proposed the idea of Omega and Kota Ibushi, a recent target of Don Callis, teaming up against Takeshita, Guevara, and a mystery partner at the AEW WrestleDream pay-per-view on Sunday, October 1st.
Additionally, The Righteous will be challenging MJF and Adam Cole for the Ring of Honor Tag Team Championship at the same event. Vincent and Dutch earned this title opportunity by winning a four-way tag team match on Rampage, which also involved Matt & Jeff Hardy, The Kingdom (Matt Taven & Mike Bennett), and Best Friends (Chuck Taylor & Trent Beretta). This will be The Righteous’ first chance to capture the ROH Tag Team Championship.
MJF and Adam Cole, who won the titles at the previous All In event, will be defending their titles for the second time. Here’s an updated card for the AEW WrestleDream event in Seattle, Washington:
- Bryan Danielson vs. Zack Sabre Jr.
- Hangman Page vs. Swerve Strickland
- AEW Tag Team Champions FTR defending against Aussie Open
- ROH Tag Team Champions Adam Cole & MJF defending against The Righteous (Vincent & Dutch)
- Katsuyori Shibata defending the ROH Pure Championship
