Scheduled for August 22, NXT Heatwave is set to be a special edition of WWE NXT aired on the USA Network. Trick Williams announced the return of NXT Heatwave during a heated exchange with Ilja Dragunov on 8/8 NXT episode.
In response to Dragunov’s immediate challenge for a fight, Trick Williams proposed a match at Heatwave instead. His intention is to prove that he can compete at the highest level. Dragunov accepted the challenge, but he left a lingering prediction that Williams’ career would die following their bout.
Dragunov holds Williams accountable for his defeat against Carmelo Hayes at NXT Great American Bash. Conversely, Williams is eager to establish his individuality and detach himself temporarily from Carmelo, emphasizing that he’s not merely a sidekick.
