Steve Maclin Says Is 100% Cleared – Former Impact World Champion Steve Maclin is gearing up for a return to the wrestling ring.
In a social media post on Wednesday morning, Maclin expressed that he is now 100% cleared and prepared to resume action. This follows his absence since sustaining a groin injury during Impact’s Down Under tour in Australia back in June.
The encouraging update on Maclin’s return emerged after his wife, Deonna Purrazzo, shared positive news during an interview on Cultaholic’s Desert Island Graps podcast this week. Purrazzo revealed that Maclin had recently received favorable news from his doctor and is on the path to making a comeback, though the exact timing remains uncertain.
Maclin’s previous match plans were altered due to the injury. He was initially set to team up with Bully Ray against PCO & Scott D’Amore at Slammiversary. However, he was replaced by Deaner, with PCO being substituted by Eric Young.
This year, Maclin held the Impact World Title until losing it to Alex Shelley at Against All Odds. His championship reign had started in April when he defeated KUSHIDA at Rebellion.
On another note, Deonna Purrazzo has her own wrestling endeavors as she challenged Giulia for the NJPW Strong Women’s Championship at Impact x NJPW Multiverse United 2, scheduled for the upcoming weekend in Philadelphia. Gisele Shaw has also issued a challenge to Giulia, although an official confirmation of a potential triple threat match is still pending.
