Jericho Appreciation Society Members Walk Out On Chris Jericho – During the August 9 episode of AEW Dynamite, the Jericho Appreciation Society came to an abrupt end as its members left Chris Jericho in a passionate segment.
The disbandment began with Daniel Garcia confronting Jericho, expressing how he had changed as a person for Jericho’s sake, yet felt he had sacrificed his friendships and ideals. Jake Hager followed, acknowledging that while Jericho brought him financial success, he felt unappreciated.
Anna Jay and Tay Conti then walked out, echoing the sentiment that drove Hager and Garcia away. Angelo Parker and Matt Menard joined the exodus, with Parker feeling he’d given his all to Jericho without receiving anything in return. Menard emotionally credited Jericho for assisting him in joining AEW when he was jobless and his wife was eight months pregnant.
Sammy Guevara, who had been closely aligned with Jericho since AEW’s inception, was the last to leave. He criticized Jericho for not reciprocating the support he often received.
The assembly followed Jericho and Konosuke Takeshita’s controversial victory over Daniel Garcia and Sammy Guevara on the August 2 episode, wherein Jericho pinned Garcia after Don Callis’s interference.
After the segment, another backstage scene showed Jericho and Callis meeting. Jericho promised an answer to Callis’s offer on the August 16 episode regarding joining his family.
The Jericho Appreciation Society’s dissolution marks a significant shift in dynamics within AEW.
