The match unfolded with the two competitors brawling throughout the arena, incorporating a variety of weapons.
The bout witnessed interference from several individuals, including Satnam Singh, Jay Lethal, Karen Angle, Matt Hardy, Brother Zay, Ethan Page, and even Leatherface. The conclusion of the match occurred when Singh executed a chokeslam on Jeff Hardy, leading to Jarrett being pulled on top of Hardy for the pinfall victory.
Notably, this unique match had a charitable aspect as well. While AEW received compensation for the match, they made a commendable decision to direct the proceeds toward assisting with the Maui wildfires. The sponsorship was tied to the promotion of the new Texas Chainsaw Massacre video game.
Dave Meltzer, speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, mentioned that the sponsorship raised more than $100,000 to support this cause. This illustrates how wrestling events can also serve as platforms for contributing to meaningful charitable efforts beyond the realm of entertainment.
Meltzer: “Because it was a big number. It was over $100,000 sponsorship. And I mean for that kind of thing, it was like, again, the network wants the sponsorship.”
Bryan Alvarez: “Why do these things have to be such disasters all the time?…. That’s exactly what I was going to ask, dude. It’s like if Miz and the zombies….if I were a sponsor, it’s like, can you have a good match?”
