BREAKING: Karrion Kross Relinquishes NXT Title Due to Injury

BREAKING: Karrion Kross Relinquishes NXT Title

Less than a week after shocking the NXT world and becoming the newest NXT Champion, Karrion Kross relinquished his hold on the title in an equally shocking display during tonight’s episode of NXT.

As noted, Kross suffered an injury during his big main event win over Keith Lee at “Takeover: XXX” event.

Karrion Kross made his way out to the ring in a sling, where he spoke about casualties occurring on both sides of a war. It was then that he revealed he had separated his shoulder, and despite wanting to defend the title, it was obvious he couldn’t in the state he was in. After saying that every path is filled with obstacles, Kross put the belt down, and said that him relinquishing the title doesn’t change anything for the state of NXT, ending things with a simple “tick, tock.”

“I told you. Again, and again. That I would become the NXT Champion. And I warned you, that everyone would suffer. At TakeOver 30, I kept good on my word, when I RIPPED the title off Keith Lee’s carcass. Like FLESH from BONE! But one should know, when you go to war, you should expect casualties on all sides. My shoulder, separated. I’m in pain, but you know what, I love it. It brings me life. But I’m a realist, and I understand the reality of the situation. There’s no way they’re going to let me defend the championship in this condition, so you know what…” Scarlett hands Karrion Kross the belt. “On the path, there are obstacles, but for me, the obstacles are the path.” Kross sets down the championship belt on the canvas. “Let this be a warning,” Kross continues, “This changes absolutely nothing. Doomsday is still coming. In the end, everybody pays the toll. And God help the obstacles that will be in my path, tick tock.”
