According to Dave Meltzer, WWE officials have decided to hold off on booking a championship match involving WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley.
Originally, the belief was that Bayley would defend the SmackDown Women’s Title against Lacey Evans at this Sunday’s WWE TLC pay-per-view event. The contest was listed on the card as recently as last week. However, on Friday, it was noted that the match isn’t expected to take place at TLC as “it was called not expected and they were not planning to hold that match off until the Royal Rumble.”
Time will tell what WWE ends up doing with this feud as they could book a match between the two stars on an episode of SmackDown or nix the feud completely.
The Royal Rumble takes place on Sunday, January 26, 2020 from Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas.
