The Ospreay factor has officially landed in New Japan Pro-Wrestling ahead of a massive weekend. Carrying the AEW World Championship over his shoulder, Will Ospreay made an unannounced appearance at the Road to King of Pro-Wrestling event in Uonuma, Niigata, sending the live crowd into a complete frenzy.
The surprise unfolded following an eight-man tag team match that saw United Empire members HENARE, Great-O-Khan, Callum Newman, and Zane Jay square off against Unbound Company’s Jeff Cobb, Yuto-Ice, OSKAR, and Gedo.
Before anyone in the arena could process his arrival, “The Commonwealth Kingpin” hit the ring like a house on fire. Ospreay dropped Yuto-Ice and OSKAR before turning his sights squarely on his rival and former stablemate, Jeff Cobb, laying him out with a vicious signature Hidden Blade.
Grabbing a microphone to address the stunned Niigata audience, Ospreay made it clear he is more than ready for his upcoming championship defense. NJPW officials immediately captured the chaos on social media, writing:
“The venue is in an uproar. Will Ospreay makes a surprise appearance at the Uonuma event!”
The surprise ambush serves as the final warning shot before this Monday, October 12, when Ospreay reunites with United Empire stablemates HENARE and Great-O-Khan to defend the NEVER Openweight Six-Man Tag Team Championships against Cobb, Yuto-Ice, and OSKAR at NJPW King of Pro-Wrestling inside the historic Ryogoku Sumo Hall in Tokyo, Japan.
