The true reason behind Becky Lynch’s recent absence from the WWE ring has been revealed by her husband, Seth Rollins, who shared that “The Man” was sidelined while recovering from a fractured vertebra.
Speaking during an appearance on The Rich Eisen Show on Friday, the former World Heavyweight Champion brought up the previously undisclosed injury when discussing Lynch’s return to WWE programming. Rollins even hesitated before opening up, admitting he was unsure if the details were supposed to be made public.
“She’s coming off a recent injury. I don’t even know if I’m supposed to say that actually. She hasn’t been—it wasn’t really made public, but she had—she broke her back,” Rollins said, causing an instant reaction from the hosts before clarifying her exact medical condition. “She didn’t break her back. Her back was broken. She had a little fracture in one of her vertebrae that—so she was out of action. She couldn’t wrestle for six weeks or so.”
Lynch stepped away from in-ring competition following an extended run in early summer, returning to WWE television in August before making her official in-ring return on the October 5 episode of RAW. Her return match against Liv Morgan ended in a disqualification after Women’s World Champion Stephanie Vaquer interfered, setting up a high-stakes Triple Threat match at Money in the Bank 2026.
Rollins admitted that while Lynch has been cleared to compete, he still carries lingering concern regarding her back ahead of a physical championship clash at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans.
“I’m still a little concerned about the back, but it seems like all is well,” Rollins added, expressing relief that Lynch is competing in a traditional Triple Threat match rather than taking high-risk falls in the Women’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match.
Lynch enters Saturday’s premium live event looking to reclaim the Women’s World Championship against Vaquer and Morgan, with her recent spine recovery adding another dramatic layer to her comeback story.
