Tommaso Ciampa has high praise for his opponent ahead of tonight’s high-stakes championship showdown, declaring that Andrade El Idolo is “so darn talented.”
At AEW WrestleDream, Ciampa is set to challenge for Andrade’s National Championship. This marks Ciampa’s second major title opportunity in as many pay-per-views, following his hard-fought challenge against Kazuchika Okada for the International Championship at AEW All Out.
Mutual Reinvention and High Momentum
Speaking with The Sportster, Ciampa previewed the upcoming championship bout by reflecting on how both competitors have revitalized their respective careers.
“We always say to all performers, you find yourself at numerous different times throughout your journey. Right now things are just clicking on all cylinders for him. So for me, like, that’s the Andrade I want to compete against. It’s very cool that it’s like, okay, I feel like both of us have kind of reinvented ourselves in some capacity. We’ve both found this – I don’t know if it’s second or third wind or whatever it is, where things are clicking again, so for us to somehow have managed to cross paths and come to this point… it’ll be special, man, because he is so darn talented,” Ciampa stated.
With both stars operating at the peak of their abilities and riding major momentum, tonight’s title match promises to be one of the marquee highlights of the card.
