Sitting down for an interview with Brandon Kravitz, Will Ospreay responds to constant rumors about jumping to WWE, explaining why his complete focus remains on AEW.
Handling the Never-Ending WWE Questions
Ospreay was asked directly if he grows tired of answering repetitive questions regarding a potential future move to WWE. The top star made it clear that he does not lose sleep over the chatter because he views it simply as part of the job, noting, “Uh, it’s — I just, I know it’s a part of the gig. Like, people always ask, and, like, I can only give my opinion. I don’t really care about it.”
Rather than entertaining hypotheticals about his next career phase, Ospreay emphasized that his total focus remains locked on his current home and what he can achieve there, adding, “Like, it’s just — I’d rather focus on AEW, and I’d rather focus on, like, what we’re able to do here.”
Total Investment in AEW’s Vision
Ospreay expressed immense pride in what the promotion brings to television, firmly believing that the company is actively reshaping the landscape of the industry. He stated, “And, like, what I believe AEW is, is changing the face of professional wrestling. And I love what we present. I love what we do. I love our wrestling. I love everything that, like, we’re all about.”
When pressed on whether he spends time looking at what rival promotions are doing, Ospreay dismissed the idea entirely, emphasizing that his priorities lie strictly within his own locker room: “So, like, I couldn’t really care less about any other promotion.”
Rising Above the Promotion Wars
The discussion also touched on the broader tribalism between fanbases and whether endless company comparisons harm the wrestling business as a whole. Rather than stoking the flames of a promotional war, Ospreay treated the debate as background noise that performers simply learn to accept, offering, “It’s just part of the game, boss. Like, you just got to learn to take it.”
Despite constant rumors, anyone waiting for Will Ospreay to tease a jump from AEW to WWE will have to look elsewhere.
