Independent wrestler Syko Stu has broken his silence regarding the harrowing August 23, 2025 incident at KnokX Pro where he was left hospitalized with severe injuries following an in-ring altercation with Raja Jackson, the son of MMA legend Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
Appearing on the SOS Podcast with Matt Rosa and Neno Torres, Stu detailed the incident, which occurred after an initial pre-match confrontation outside the venue where Stu smashed a beer can over Jackson’s head—believing it to be a planned working spot. Although Stu apologized and they shook hands to set up an angle where Jackson would deliver a protected receipt punch, the situation escalated violently once the bell rang.
Jackson slammed Stu unconscious before delivering over 20 legitimate, unanswered strikes to his head until fellow independent wrestler Doug Malo pulled him off.
Reflecting on the blackout, Stu noted that he remembers little of the actual attack:
I don’t remember a lot of it. I do remember Raja coming backstage and he was filming. Usually you don’t film backstage like that. I know there was the can spot and I don’t remember too much after that. I do remember that we did call a finish and he was supposed to come in. I think he was going to give me one punch because of the can spot. It’s supposed to be a wrestling punch, but if he would’ve connected with it a little more, I could’ve sold it better. I don’t think anyone expected what was going to happen to happen.
Stu suffered a severe traumatic brain injury, a shattered maxilla, and lost two teeth, spending several days hospitalized from Saturday until his discharge on Thursday. The physical and cognitive fallout required intensive, ongoing recovery:
I really had to relearn how to walk. I couldn’t walk after that for a while. I did have a severe traumatic brain injury. I lost two teeth. I shattered my maxilla. I know there’s more stuff, but I can’t remember off the top of my head. I was off work for an entire year. With a severe traumatic brain injury, my job is a lot of computer work. Just going to doctor’s appointments. I’m still waiting for dental to come through. They’re giving implants for those. I’m still continuing with the traumatic brain injury doctors. It’s an ongoing thing.
Addressing previous reports regarding forgiveness, Stu clarified that his stance was misinterpreted:
That was a little bit out of context. What I actually said was, ‘I’m not holding a grudge.’ I never said anything about forgiveness. Everybody can learn something from this. I just didn’t want to hold a grudge because that brings the negative energy into it. When you have to let something go, it kind of helps you heal from it. As far as forgiveness, when we’re in the courtroom and I was reading that statement, I don’t think the LA Times heard the same statement that I read.
Stu also addressed communication attempts from the Jackson family, noting that while Quinton “Rampage” Jackson initially reached out, public comments made by the former MMA star on various podcasts—including allegations regarding Stu—prevented any reconciliation.
While Stu stated he is physically capable of wrestling again, the mental toll—including difficulties remembering matches and spots—has kept him sidelined, and he has been medically advised against stepping back into the ring for now.
Raja Jackson previously pleaded no contest to one felony count of battery with serious bodily injury and served a 90-day prison sentence for the attack. When asked if justice was served, Stu declined to comment.
