Former WWE ID talent Airica Demia—who performed under the ring name Anya Rune—has announced that she is stepping away from the squared circle for an indefinite period to prioritize her health.
In a candid statement shared on social media on Monday night, Demia revealed that she has fallen out of love with the industry following her September departure from WWE, hoping that a prolonged break will help her rediscover her passion for the sport.
“I Have Unfortunately Fallen Out Of Love With Wrestling”
Reflecting on her decision to step back, Demia expressed gratitude to her supporters while addressing the difficult reality of needing a mental and physical reset:
Hi everybody. I know a post like this is gonna let a lot of you down but I feel like its very necessary. Hell, I never thought I would end up making a post like this. I need to take a step back from wrestling. Both for my physical and mental health. I don’t know how long this is going to last but I’m hoping to find a new love for it in the time I will be spending away.
While she intends to keep her social media profiles active, she noted that her future content will shift away from professional wrestling. Despite her current detachment from the business, she thanked the fanbase for standing by her through every chapter of her career:
I will be keeping my social media somewhat active, it’ll just be less wrestling related content. I have unfortunately fallen out of love with wrestling but that doesn’t mean I don’t love everything its given me. I love and appreciate every single last one of you guys who have continued to support me through everything. Thank you so much.
Looking Back At Her Career Journey
Before catching the attention of major scouts, Demia built her reputation on the independent circuit. She officially signed a WWE ID contract in March 2026, subsequently making regular appearances for WWE EVOLVE as Anya Rune before ultimately receiving her release on September 4 alongside other developmental cuts.
There is currently no timetable for a potential return to the ring.
