Mercedes Mone Shares Update On Broken Nose Following AEW WrestleDream Title Defense

AEW Women’s World Champion Mercedes Mone is battling through physical adversity to maintain her spot at the top of the division.

Mone successfully defended her title against former champion Thekla this past Saturday at AEW WrestleDream. The victory marked her latest successful defense since capturing the championship from Willow Nightingale at All In: London and following up with a defense against Queen Aminata at Grand Slam: France.

However, her title reign has come with a heavy physical toll. Tony Khan previously revealed that a broken nose suffered at All In: London forced Mone to be pulled from the All Out pay-per-view card.

Mone Provides Firsthand Injury Update After WrestleDream

Appearing at the WrestleDream post-show media scrum, Mone addressed her recovery timeline, revealing that her nose remains broken despite undergoing surgery a month and a half ago.

“I’m one month and a half post-surgery on my nose. It’s still very much broken. And I’m pushing through every single week, but I love what I do. I love defending my women’s championship.”

Despite the lingering injury, the reigning champion made it clear that she has no intention of slowing down or stepping away from her active schedule.

“I’m here to be the best. So just having a broken nose, it’s not going to faze me. It’s not going to stop me. It’s not going to stop me from defending this. This is my destiny. So I’m ready to give everything that I have for it.”
