WWE Superstar Bayley made a emotional homecoming on Sunday, October 18, when she made a surprise appearance at Big Time Wrestling for the 30th Anniversary show in San Jose, California.
Returning to the promotion where her professional wrestling journey began, Bayley was met with ringing “welcome back” chants from her hometown crowd. During her time on the microphone, she thanked the fans for supporting the anniversary celebration and gave a heartfelt shoutout to her mother, who was watching from the front row.
Returning To Her Roots
Long before becoming a WWE Grand Slam Champion, Bayley began training at Big Time Wrestling in 2008 and made her official ring debut that October under the name Davina Rose. She competed regularly for BTW as her home promotion, along with other independent circuits, until signing with WWE in late 2012 and debuting on NXT in 2013. Her last official independent match prior to Sunday’s return took place at a BTW event in 2013.
Bayley continues to perform as a cornerstone of the Monday Night Raw roster, where she is currently embroiled in an intense rivalry with Lyra Valkyria.
The stacked 30th Anniversary card also featured prominent talent from across the industry, including Rob Van Dam, Mustafa Ali, Andrade El Idolo, Bandido, “Speedball” Mike Bailey, Joey Janela, and Jeff Cobb.
