Former WWE Women’s Champion Bayley has officially inked a new contract with WWE, putting an end to months of rampant internet speculation regarding her potential free agency and rumored interest from rival promotions.

The 37-year-old veteran made her return to television on the September 7 edition of WWE RAW live from the Legacy Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. Her sudden appearance directly decided the outcome of the Triple Threat Women’s Money in the Bank qualifying match between Sol Ruca, Lyra Valkyria, and Maxxine Dupri.

Just as Valkyria appeared to have the qualifier wrapped up after executing Nightwing, Bayley emerged at ringside and yanked the referee out of the ring to break up the count. “Yep, signed a new deal,” Meltzer confirmed.

“This match had no heat until very late in the match. When Bayley showed up, they went crazy because it was something big and new and all that.”
