Despite plying his trade in rival territory, reigning AEW National Champion Andrade El Idolo crossed promotional lines to celebrate a historic victory for a close friend and former colleague.
Following the fallout of WWE Money in the Bank 2026 on Saturday night at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Andrade took to social media to publicly congratulate Penta on his monumental victory in the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match.
“Congratulations to a good friend and teammate Penta,” Andrade wrote in a post on X. “Long live Mexico, you bstards!!”*
While Andrade and Penta never engaged in a marquee one-on-one rivalry during their shared tenure in AEW, the pair crossed paths on numerous occasions in high-profile tag team and multi-person contests. Andrade himself is no stranger to the dangerous gimmick match, having competed in three separate WWE Money in the Bank ladder matches throughout his tenure with the promotion in 2019, 2024, and 2025.
Looking ahead to his immediate obligations in AEW, Andrade is slated for major action on Wednesday, October 14. He will team up with AEW World Champion Will Ospreay to take on the formidable duo of Samoa Joe and Tommaso Ciampa.
The marquee tag team clash is set to headline a special three-hour block combining AEW Dynamite and AEW Collision live from the Wolstein Center in Cleveland, Ohio.
