WWE management is considering a major creative shift for the upcoming Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match following the massive reception to WWE RAW in Mexico City.
Penta has gained significant internal backing within the creative team to win the briefcase at the pay-per-view on October 10 in New Orleans. The push follows his World Heavyweight Championship main-event match against Roman Reigns on September 14, which drew record-setting global broadcast metrics.
The internal shift represents a sudden turn in WWE’s long-term planning. As recently as SummerSlam, Penta was not scheduled to win the briefcase, and his title defense against Reigns in Arena CDMX was originally envisioned as a “one and done” attraction.
However, the surge in international viewership, social media engagement, and merchandise sales forced executives to reconsider. Members of the creative team now view a future title rematch between Reigns and Penta as a strong business move, with a Money in the Bank victory serving as the narrative vehicle to set it up.
Penta qualified for the match on the September 21 episode of RAW by defeating Dominik Mysterio and Dragon Lee in a Triple Threat qualifier.
