The tournament to determine which luchador will challenge Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship on the September 14 edition of RAW in Mexico City continued on the August 15 AAA on FOX broadcast.
A first‑round match between La Parka and Psycho Clown was underway when the referee was accidentally taken out. Moments later, the lights in the venue went out. When they came back on, the masked man who previously attacked Psycho Clown at Verano de Escándalo appeared behind him and struck again, leaving Clown laid out.
La Parka, unaware of the interference, returned to the ring and hit his finisher on Psycho Clown to score the win and move forward in the bracket.
With the victory, La Parka now advances to face Penta in the next round. Penta earned his spot by defeating Laredo Kid on the August 10 episode of RAW.
