Chelsea Green’s status as WWE Women’s Champion was addressed on this week’s episode of SmackDown. Green suffered a broken orbital bone last week, and SmackDown opened with General Manager Nick Aldis speaking directly to her about the situation.
Aldis asked Green to relinquish the title due to the injury. Green refused, listing everything she has sacrificed and insisting she remains champion until someone takes the title from her.
Aldis then laid out the ruling: Chelsea Green has 30 days to get medically cleared and defend the championship. Until that deadline expires, she remains the WWE Women’s Champion.
Later, Green was confronted by Nia Jax — a clear sign of who may be next in line once Green is cleared to compete.
