Chelsea Green Confirms Fractured Orbital Bone After SmackDown

Interim WWE Women’s Champion Chelsea Green’s momentum took an unexpected hit last Friday on WWE SmackDown, where she suffered an injury during her Women’s Tag Team Championship match alongside Tiffany Stratton. The bout saw Fallon Henley and Lainey Reid retain their titles, with Henley scoring the pin on Green — but the result quickly became secondary once word of an injury surfaced.

Bryan Alvarez reported shortly after the show that Green had been hurt during the match, noting that the exact nature of the injury wasn’t immediately clear. His initial update suggested hope that Green wouldn’t be sidelined for long, but the situation escalated once Green addressed the issue herself.

Green Reveals Fractured Orbital Bone

In an Instagram video posted over the weekend, Green confirmed she suffered a fractured orbital bone. The video showed visible bruising around her eye and documented the aftermath of the injury, ending speculation about what happened during the SmackDown match.

The timing of the injury presents a significant challenge for WWE’s women’s division. Rhea Ripley — the reigning WWE Women’s Champion — is already out of action following surgery, leaving the division without its top champion. Green, who currently holds the Interim WWE Women’s Championship, now joins Ripley on the injured list.

With both the official champion and interim champion sidelined, WWE faces a complicated decision regarding the future of the title picture. Whether the company introduces a temporary solution, adjusts the championship structure or waits for medical updates remains unknown.

For now, Green’s recovery becomes the latest storyline twist in a division already dealing with major setbacks.
