WWE SmackDown Results – August 14, 2026 – Welcome to WrestlingAttitude’s live coverage results of WWE SmackDown on August 14, from the TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Nick Aldis is in the ring and brings up Chelsea Green’s injury from last week. He says he’s reached a decision and asks her to come out. Chelsea joins him, and Nick tells her he knows how hard she worked for this moment, but he can’t let her compete with a broken eye socket. He hates this part of the job and asks her to hand over the title.

Chelsea says she knew something would ruin this for her. Every time she gets something good, something awful follows. She says she’s always treated like a joke, the opponent everyone laughs at. She reminds Nick he knows what she’s sacrificed and how much she’s endured. She says she’s been mocked by the world, but every night she went to bed believing this moment would come. She says she finally made it, and Nick should understand that, especially after SummerSlam.

Chelsea says they proved it doesn’t matter what people think — it’s what they think about each other. Nick was a champion, his wife was a champion, and until someone takes the belt off her, it’s hers. She hands Nick the title.

Nick stops her. He says as GM, he thinks he’s doing the right thing. As a man, he doesn’t care what the medical report says. Chelsea returns to the ring, and Nick gives her 30 days to get cleared.

Gunther’s music hits and he walks out.

Gunther says nobody wants to hear another sob story. He wants to talk about something that matters. He says Nick is on a short leash and demands to know why Nick did what he did at SummerSlam. Gunther mocks Nick for climbing a ladder, hitting a door frame, and crying about it. Gunther says he wrestled twice and made a man tap in front of his family. He asks why Nick added Kevin Owens to his match.

Nick says he didn’t add Kevin — Gunther was the one added.

Chelsea fires back at Gunther, telling him to keep stroking his ego because that’s all he has. She says there’s only one champion in the ring, and it’s her.

Matt Cardona comes out and gets right in Gunther’s face.

Gunther mocks him for running in from catering. He asks what Cardona thinks he’s going to do. Gunther says he could call him every insult in the book and Cardona wouldn’t be able to do anything.

Cardona punches Gunther and knocks him to the floor.

Matt Cardona vs. Gunther

The match picks up with Gunther pounding away on Cardona. Cardona fires back with punches, but Gunther drags him outside and powerbombs him into the barricade, the announce table, and the apron. Cardona barely beats the count. Gunther drops him with a short‑arm clothesline and follows with a Saito suplex. Gunther mouths off toward Chelsea Green, giving Cardona an opening. Cardona hits a low blow and the Rough Ryder for a close two. Gunther answers with another powerbomb and locks in a Boston Crab, forcing Cardona to tap.

Winner: Gunther

After the match, Lash Legend and Nia Jax walk out. Nia calls Chelsea Green pathetic for getting hurt and says there’s no point wasting time if they want a real fighting champion. Nia says she wants the title and warns that if Chelsea doesn’t give her what she wants, she has a long history of breaking faces.

Tiffany Stratton runs out, but Lash catches her and squeezes her in a bear hug. Nia crushes her with a splash. Lash adds a forearm shot for good measure.

– A video package airs highlighting Tatum Paxley’s main roster debut.

Backstage:

Charlotte tells Alexa Bliss she misses her and thanks her for what she did. Alexa says it was Tatum, not her. Alexa says Tatum reminds her of herself and promises Charlotte will like her surprise.

They look at Charlotte’s new locker room, and Charlotte seems unsettled by what she sees.

Backstage:

Cody Rhodes approaches Nick Aldis backstage and says they need to settle things before everything gets out of control. Nick suggests doing it at Saturday Night’s Main Event. Cody says he doesn’t care where it happens.

Sami Zayn walks in and says Cody wants a match with Randy, then shifts to talking about his own number‑one‑contender situation. Cody tells Sami he used to let him ramble like this because he felt he owed him something, but he doesn’t owe anyone anymore. If Sami wants to do this, then they’ll do it.

Sami reminds Cody he pinned him clean. Cody says Sami told him to say “when,” so he wants the match tonight.

Nick asks Sami what’s in it for him. Nick says if Sami beats Cody, he’ll get the winner of Punk versus Owens.

Carmelo Hayes vs. Baron Corbin – United States Championship

Hayes hit a flip dive on Corbin before the match even settled and rolled him into the ring. Corbin missed a splash, letting Hayes unload with chops and punches. Hayes cracked him with an enzuigiri and followed with a springboard clothesline for a near fall. Corbin knocked Hayes to the apron, but Hayes punched him and climbed up top. Corbin caught him, Hayes slipped free, and Corbin tumbled over the top when Hayes moved. Hayes hit a springboard leg drop to the floor.

Corbin blocked First 48 and drilled Hayes with a powerbomb. He threw Hayes outside and slammed him into the barricade. Corbin rammed Hayes into the ring post, then launched him over the barricade into the timekeeper’s area. Hayes tried to fight back with chops, but Corbin kneed him and sent him into the steps.

Corbin hammered Hayes in the corner. Hayes fought back with punches, but Corbin cut him off with an elbow for a near fall. Corbin drove another elbow into the back of Hayes’ neck and followed with more shots. Hayes tried to fire up with forearms. Corbin blocked an Irish whip, sent Hayes across the ring, and hit a clothesline.

Hayes slipped out of a powerslam and Corbin missed a splash. Hayes hit a kick and followed with a springboard DDT for a near fall. Hayes went up top and hit a frog splash, but Corbin kicked out. Corbin blocked First 48 and booted Hayes. Hayes countered a powerbomb into a sunset flip for two. Corbin answered with Deep Six for another near fall.

Hayes escaped End of Days and hit First 48, then landed a second one. Hayes climbed the ropes, but Corbin knocked him to the floor. Corbin dragged him back in and hit End of Days for the win.

Winner: Baron Corbin

After the match, Trick Williams came out. Lil Yachty slid in and cracked Corbin with a kendo stick. Corbin blocked the second swing, but Trick blasted him with a jumping knee.

Backstage:

In the locker room, Tiffany Stratton is getting ready when Chelsea Green walks in and thanks her for helping earlier. Tiffany says she’s fine and cleared to wrestle tonight.

In the Arena:

Kevin Owens walks to the ring. CM Punk’s music hits and Punk joins him.

Punk says Owens isn’t a coward, and whatever Owens planned to say, he should say it to his face. Owens says it’s funny Punk wants that now, because earlier Punk waited until he was halfway up the aisle to call him a fat slob. Punk asks if Owens really thought he wouldn’t say it to his face.

Owens says their story goes back twenty years. They wrestled for the same indie promotion. Punk was the top guy, and Owens was trying to break through. Owens says Punk chose to tear him down in a locker room full of peers. Owens says it’s not just that moment — it’s who Punk has always been, the way he treated friends, the things he said.

Punk tells him to be specific. Owens says it’s not three people — it’s everyone. Punk calls them losers.

Owens says plenty of people look up to Punk because he came back and tried to fix things. Owens says he’s the one guy who never bought it and never will. He calls Punk a phony who only returned because he had no other option after burning bridges everywhere else. Owens says he doesn’t respect people like that.

Owens says he’s done fine on his own. He main‑evented everywhere, including WrestleMania against Steve Austin. Punk says he was happy for him, then asks if Owens thinks he would’ve gotten that spot if Punk had been around.

Owens tells Punk to say it directly. Punk says he’s here as Undisputed Champion, with a locker room full of people ready to fight him. He says he called out Oba Femi and got “endometriosis” instead. Punk says it would be a mistake to take Owens lightly. He sees wasted potential — a tough guy who’s still a bum. Punk says he evolved and adapted, and if Owens had done the same instead of avoiding the work, he wouldn’t have eaten that Goldberg spear.

Owens says he sees someone who main‑evented WrestleMania. He says Punk hates the man he sees in the mirror. Owens says he’s the same person he was twenty years ago, and now he’s facing Punk for the title. Owens says Punk couldn’t avoid Roman’s spear either.

Punk says he sees someone stubborn, loud, and convinced he’s always right. Owens asks if Punk is mad he never asked for his advice. Owens says he regrets not punching Punk in that locker room years ago.

Punk tells him to do it. Owens says he didn’t back then because Punk would’ve ruined his career. Next week, he gets to beat Punk’s ass.

Punk says Owens will be staring up at the lights after Punk puts him to sleep.

Backstage:

Backstage, Finn Balor tells Nick Aldis he understands why Kevin Owens and Gunther were added at SummerSlam, but he’d appreciate some advance notice next time.

Gunther walks in and cuts him off, saying he wants to settle the SummerSlam issue right now.

Nick tells Gunther he’s interrupting his conversation with Finn.

Finn fires back, calling Gunther a condescending prick. He says he was about to tell Nick he’ll do whatever it takes to get a title match.

WWE Tag Team Championship Triple Threat: R‑Truth & Damian Priest (c) vs. The War Raiders vs. The M.F.T.s (Tama & Talla Tonga w/ Haku)

All three teams mixed it up right away. The Raiders and the M.F.T.s spilled to the floor trading shots while Truth and Priest stayed put. Priest climbed the ropes and wiped everyone out with a crossbody, and the match hit an early commercial break barely a minute in.

Back from break, Truth knocked Tama out of the ring and tagged Priest. Priest went after Erik, hitting kicks and corner clotheslines on both Raiders. He nailed Erik with a superkick and dropped Ivar with a Flatliner. Truth returned as he and Priest set up Ivar on the top rope, but Talla Tonga stormed in and hit a double chokeslam on both champions. Ivar answered with a cannonball that sent Talla flying. Tama got caught next, eating Ivar’s pop‑up powerslam for a near fall. Talla recovered and bulldozed everyone in sight.

Priest and Ivar stood up and agreed on a temporary truce, hitting a double suplex on Talla. Truth locked in an STF, but it didn’t last. Erik blasted Truth with a knee as the Raiders tried to finish things. Priest jumped in, but Ivar launched him with a pop‑up powerslam into the timekeeper’s area. In the ring, Tama missed the Cutthroat, letting Truth run through the Cena comeback, but it wasn’t enough. Tama and Talla regrouped and hit the Brother’s Keeper double powerbomb to score the pin and win the WWE Tag Team Championships.

WWE Women’s United States Championship: Tiffany Stratton (c) vs. Jacy Jayne

Jacy Jayne took control right away, backing Stratton into the corner and hitting a senton across Tiffany’s injured ribs. She kept targeting the back, grinding down the champion. Tiffany fought back with a running shot to the back of Jacy’s head and followed with a dropkick. Jacy rolled outside, where Reid and Henley caused a distraction. That gave Jacy the opening to jump Stratton with a backstabber as the match went to break.

Back from commercial, Tiffany climbed the ropes for the Prettiest Moonsault Ever, but Jacy got her knees up. Tiffany fired back with a running knee. Chelsea Green yanked Fallon off the apron, clearing the side. Tiffany hit a crossbody to wipe out Fallon and Reid. Jacy slid in behind her and hit the rolling encore, scoring the three count and the title.

Winner and NEW Women’s United States Champion: Jacy Jayne

Backstage:

Cathy is backstage with Jade, B‑Fab, and Michin. She asks them about Alexa and Tatum.

Jade says Alexa and Tatum can’t handle their own business. She says to line them all up and she’ll knock them down one by one.

B‑Fab says she’s still waiting for the proper welcome to SmackDown.

Michin stands with them, keeping the same energy.

Cody Rhodes vs. Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn was making his way to the ring when Randy Orton blindsided Cody from behind. Randy smashed Cody into the ring post and hit the hanging DDT on the floor. He lined up the RKO, Cody blocked it, but Randy raked the eyes and threw him outside again. Cody went into the steps, and Randy picked up the steps and slammed them into him.

Cody fought back with punches as they brawled through the crowd. Cody cracked Randy with a trash can and sent him into the bleachers. Randy answered with a punch and a European uppercut, then kicked Cody as they moved back toward ringside. Randy shoved Cody into a security guard and kept swinging.

Randy threw Cody onto the announce table and kept punching him. He wedged Cody between the ring steps and grabbed a chair. Cody kicked him low and blasted Randy with the chair. Cody stood over him as officials rushed in and pulled the chair away.

The show ended on Cody staring down at Randy.

WWE SmackDown Preview – August 14, 2026

Women’s United States Championship Match

Tiffany Stratton defends the Women’s United States Championship tonight for the first time since her win over Jade Cargill at Night of Champions on June 27. She faces Jacy Jayne of Fatal Influence. Jayne earned the opportunity after Lainey Reid and Fallon Henley retained the Women’s Tag Team Championship against Stratton and Interim Women’s Champion Chelsea Green last Friday. All five women agreed beforehand that the winning side would choose the next challenger, giving Jayne her shot.

United States Championship Match

Baron Corbin puts the United States Championship on the line against Carmelo Hayes. Hayes hasn’t wrestled on SmackDown since July 10, but he made his presence felt last Friday. After Corbin retained against Trick Williams, Hayes attacked him backstage and announced their match for tonight. Corbin enters with momentum. Hayes enters with payback on his mind.

WWE Tag Team Championship Match

Damian Priest and R‑Truth defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against AAA World Tag Team Champions Ivar and Erik. The War Raiders met Priest and Truth in a Winner Takes All match on July 30, but the bout ended in referee stoppage when all four men broke into a brawl. Tonight, the titles are on the line again with no mixed stakes and no shortcuts.

CM Punk, Kevin Owens, Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton Appear

CM Punk and Kevin Owens are advertised ahead of their Undisputed WWE Championship match next Friday. Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton are also scheduled. Tensions between Rhodes and Orton continue to rise after Orton cost Rhodes his title match at SummerSlam Saturday with an RKO out of nowhere. Their confrontation tonight adds another layer to the fallout.
