Eric Bischoff Doesn’t See Vince McMahon Returning to a Major Role in WWE

Eric Bischoff doesn’t believe Vince McMahon is gearing up for any kind of major comeback. On a recent episode of 83 Weeks, Bischoff addressed the speculation surrounding McMahon’s future and questioned why the former WWE chairman would even want to return to the spotlight at this stage.

Bischoff said fans often assume McMahon is plotting a dramatic re‑entry into WWE programming, but he doesn’t buy it. He said the idea of McMahon stepping back into a high‑profile role doesn’t make sense given the circumstances.

“Everybody is kind of like assuming Vince wants to get back in the spotlight,” Bischoff said. “I’m not sold on that. I highly doubt that we’re going to see a high-profile Vince McMahon.”

Bischoff Expects Only Occasional Appearances

Bischoff said he wouldn’t be surprised if McMahon shows up for something small, like a Hall of Fame appearance or a brief cameo. But he doesn’t envision McMahon returning as a regular television character or becoming involved in storylines.

“We’ll see him,” Bischoff said. “I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes some smaller appearances in WWE, Hall of Fame-type of appearances, but he’s not going to be on regular programming.”

He added that McMahon’s presence on TV would bring more complications than benefits.

“The baggage that he has with him, regardless of how these things settle out, outweighs the benefit.”

A Return to the TKO Board Seems Even Less Likely

Bischoff also discussed the possibility of McMahon returning to the TKO Group Holdings board. He said he doesn’t know the board members personally, but from his perspective, the idea seems far‑fetched.

“From my perspective, I don’t see that either,” he said. “I see that being even more remote. What added value does Vince McMahon bring to the board? He doesn’t. He brings baggage.”

Bischoff then made a pointed comparison when discussing McMahon’s public image.

“He’s not Harvey Weinstein, he’s not quite there. He’s not Bill Cosby, but he’s in the same neighbourhood. It’s the same zip code.”

Bischoff’s stance is clear: McMahon may appear occasionally, but a full‑scale return to WWE or corporate leadership is not something he expects to see again.
