Chelsea Green received major recognition following WWE SummerSlam 2026 Night 2, becoming the second-ever winner of ESPN’s Moment of the Night Title.
Sunday’s show featured several major moments, including three championship changes, Kevin Owens’ shocking WWE return, and Roman Reigns successfully defending the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins in a brutal main event.
However, ESPN decided that Chelsea Green’s surprise victory in the Interim WWE Women’s Championship ladder match was the standout moment of the night.
Chelsea Green Wins Moment of the Night After Ladder Match Victory
Green captured the award after defeating Charlotte Flair, Jade Cargill, Tiffany Stratton, and Lash Legend in a chaotic ladder match to become the Interim WWE Women’s Champion.
The victory was unexpected, as Green overcame several established stars and capitalized during the closing moments of the match. After the other competitors were taken out, Green recovered and climbed the ladder to claim the championship.
ESPN’s Moment of the Night Title was introduced as a new recognition for standout performances during WWE’s biggest events. The award was first presented after SummerSlam Night 1, when Oba Femi received the honor for defeating Brock Lesnar in Hell in a Cell.
Green is now the second superstar to win the championship-style award following her memorable SummerSlam performance.
The Interim WWE Women’s Championship was created because current WWE Women’s Champion Rhea Ripley is sidelined with an injury. While Ripley remains the official champion, Green now holds the interim title and has earned a major spotlight moment.
With her SummerSlam victory and ESPN recognition, Chelsea Green has added another significant achievement to her WWE career.
