Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay added another explosive chapter to their rivalry on the July 29 episode of AEW Dynamite, turning a tense face‑to‑face into a heated physical clash. What began as a verbal exchange quickly escalated, pushing their AEW All In storyline into even more emotional territory.
The segment revisited the fallout from Redemption, where the trust between the two stars appeared to collapse. Tony Schiavone introduced Omega for a statement, but Ospreay cut him off almost immediately. Omega said he wanted to speak from the heart, accusing Ospreay of betraying him during the Death Riders’ attack at Redemption.
Omega recalled the moment he was left beaten on the mat. Ospreay had refused Jon Moxley’s order to suffocate Omega with a plastic bag, tearing it apart instead. But Omega said that when he regained awareness, he saw Ospreay standing over him with the AEW World Championship and the shredded bag nearby — and believed Ospreay had helped set the trap.
Ospreay denied the accusation, and that’s when Omega snapped.
Omega slapped Ospreay across the face multiple times, telling him he would always be “a step behind.” After absorbing several strikes, Ospreay fired back with a thunderous slap of his own and teased the Hidden Blade. Omega backed away, choosing not to risk a fight he wasn’t prepared for. The moment proved that sometimes the most powerful promo doesn’t need a microphone — just an open hand.
Ospreay then delivered an emotional response. He admitted he had lost confidence after his neck injury and briefly found direction within the Death Riders before rejecting Moxley’s methods. Looking Omega in the eyes, Ospreay vowed to win the AEW World Championship the right way.
“You’re damn right I can pull the trigger… I’m gonna pull the trigger when it matters the most, and when I pull that trigger, Kenny will see it coming.”
