Raquel Rodriguez Wins Women’s Intercontinental Title on RAW

Raquel Rodriguez reached a major milestone on the July 27 episode of WWE RAW, capturing singles championship gold on the main roster for the first time. The win came just days before SummerSlam and capped off a chaotic night at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California, where Sol Ruca attempted to extend her reign as Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Ruca opened the match with speed and precision. She kept Rodriguez off balance with a standing moonsault, a hurricanrana, and a top‑rope DDT. Rodriguez answered with pure power, fighting through every counter despite taking a knee to the face that Michael Cole suggested may have broken her nose. The match stayed even until outside interference changed everything.

Liv Morgan and Roxanne Perez made their way to ringside to help Rodriguez. Their presence drew out Women’s World Champion IYO SKY, who charged toward the ring. Morgan cut her off, and the two brawled around the floor while Rodriguez and Ruca continued inside. Ruca looked ready to hit the Sol Snatcher, but Perez shoved her into the ring post before she could connect. Rodriguez seized the moment and hit the Tejana Bomb for the pinfall, becoming the new Women’s Intercontinental Champion.

Rodriguez earns her first main‑roster singles title

The victory marks Rodriguez’s first singles championship since joining the main roster in April 2022. She previously held the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles six times with partners Aliyah, Liv Morgan, and Roxanne Perez, but singles gold had remained out of reach. Her only previous singles title came during her run as NXT Women’s Champion.

Judgment Day celebrated the win after the match, continuing the faction’s strong momentum heading into SummerSlam. For Rodriguez, the moment represents a long‑awaited breakthrough and a major shift in the Women’s Intercontinental Championship picture.
