ESPN and WWE are teaming up for a new championship reveal ahead of SummerSlam weekend. The company has introduced a custom WWE Championship belt featuring the ESPN logo, and it will be awarded twice during the upcoming two‑night premium live event.
The sports network announced that the ESPN WWE Championship will be presented to the “Moment of the Night” winners for each night of SummerSlam 2026. The idea mirrors the bonus‑style awards used by other TKO brands such as UFC and Zuffa Boxing, where standout performers receive special recognition after major events.
WWE released photos of the new belt, showcasing a design that blends the classic WWE Championship look with ESPN branding. The award is meant to highlight the most memorable moment from each night of the show.

ESPN will introduce a custom ESPN championship title as part of its new ‘Moment of the Night’ recognition, celebrating the most impactful performance, storyline or match moment from each WWE Premium Live Event. The title will also be incorporated into fan-facing content, creator integrations and on-site activations throughout SummerSlam weekend.
SummerSlam 2026 takes place this weekend on Saturday, August 1 and Sunday, August 2, streaming live on the ESPN Unlimited app from U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The event marks the first SummerSlam under WWE’s new broadcast partnership with ESPN, and the introduction of the ESPN WWE Championship adds another layer to the collaboration.

The new belt will be handed out once per night, giving two Superstars the chance to walk away with a unique piece of hardware that won’t be defended, contested or reissued outside of SummerSlam weekend.
