The June 23 episode of WWE NXT added multiple matches to the lineup for this weekend’s Great American Bash, further shaping the card ahead of the premium live event.
New Matches Confirmed For NXT Great American Bash
Zaria will defend the NXT Women’s North American Championship against Tatum Paxley in a rematch. The bout was made official after Paxley attacked Zaria last week, prompting the champion to respond with a promo. Zaria stated she was willing to give Paxley another opportunity, making it clear she intends to defeat her again at the event.
Another addition sees Shiloh Hill face Tristan Angels in a revenge-driven matchup. Hill recently returned after being taken out by Angels following the Mr. NXT pageant. During a backstage interview, Hill explained that the moment was personal, as he had opened up to the audience during his speech. He said Angels took advantage of that vulnerability and promised to settle the score at the Great American Bash.
The WWE Women’s Speed Championship match was also finalized. Arianna Grace defeated Izzi Dame in the Speed tournament final to earn a title shot against Wren Sinclair.
The finish of that match tied into ongoing storyline developments, as Shawn Spears accidentally distracted Dame. Later in the show, Spears was pinned in a tag team match while teaming with Niko Vance against Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux. After the loss, Vance attacked Spears and removed him from their group.
In a backstage segment, Robert Stone revealed that he had spoken with Rey Mysterio, teasing that luchadores from AAA are expected to appear at the event. No further details were provided.
