NXT Preview – June 23, 2026
Tony D’Angelo defends the NXT Championship against Naraku at NXT The Great American Bash this Sunday, and Lola Vice puts the NXT Women’s Championship on the line against WrenQCC’s Kendal Grey that same night. Before both matches become official, a double contract signing takes place tonight. D’Angelo and Naraku met in a tense sit‑down last Tuesday, where D’Angelo signed his contract and Naraku said he would sign in his own time. Later that same night, Vice and Grey teamed up to beat Zaria and Kelani Jordan with help from Women’s North American Champion Tatum Paxley. A miscommunication after the match led to Grey accidentally hitting Vice with her championship belt, adding more tension heading into the signing.
Aaron Rourke competes in his first match on NXT as he defends the EVOLVE Championship against Tristain Angels. Rourke already retained the title against Angels on the May 27 episode of WWE EVOLVE. Angels has also been frustrated with Rourke for voting for Shiloh Hill during the Mr. NXT Pageant on the June 9 episode of NXT, where Rourke served as a judge.
Wren Sinclair learns her challenger for the Women’s Speed Championship at The Great American Bash as Izzi Dame of The Culling faces Arianna Grace of BirthRight in the finals of the Women’s Speed Championship Number One Contenders Tournament. Dame beat Thea Hail in the first round on the June 16 NXT, while Grace defeated Layla Diggs that same night to reach the finals.
Tensions between DarkState and Saquon Shugars have grown over the last several weeks since Shugars was kicked out of the group. Shugars looks for revenge this Sunday at The Great American Bash when he faces Dion Lennox in singles action. Before that match arrives, the two former partners meet face‑to‑face tonight, as announced last Tuesday.
Keanu Carver also goes one‑on‑one with EK Prosper following last Tuesday’s show. Hank Walker and Tank Ledger face BirthRight’s Channing “Stacks” Lorenzo and Uriah Connors after a backstage confrontation last week. Meanwhile, The Culling’s Shawn Spears and Niko Vance take on Sean Legacy and Dorian Van Dux, also set up during last Tuesday’s episode.
