MJF captured the AEW World Championship for a third time at Double or Nothing 2026, defeating Darby Allin in a brutal main event that also saw him retain his hair in the high-stakes stipulation match.
The bout opened with Allin immediately taking control, using quick offense and multiple side headlock takeovers to ground the champion. The pace escalated quickly as Allin sent MJF to the outside and attempted a tope suicida, only to crash when MJF moved and the challenger clipped the ropes on the dive.
MJF began to shift momentum with targeted offense, including a powerbomb onto the apron and an avalanche piledriver attempt in the ring. Allin continued to fight back, landing a Coffin Drop attempt later in the match, but MJF repeatedly found ways to escape high-impact situations.
One of the key turning points came when MJF drove Allin onto the steel steps with a package piledriver, swinging control firmly in his favor. Despite that, Allin refused to stay down and responded with multiple Scorpion Death Drop variations and a Coffin Drop from the scaffolding area, keeping himself in contention.
The match spilled across the arena, with Allin continuing his high-risk offense while MJF relied on counter-wrestling and opportunistic strikes. At one point, MJF even used ringside personnel as part of a counter to a suicide dive, showing his willingness to bend the rules to survive.
In the closing stretch, both men exchanged submission attempts and signature moves. Allin nearly stole the win with another Coffin Drop, but MJF countered at the last moment by forcing a collapse and creating separation.
MJF then sealed the victory with an avalanche piledriver followed by a side headlock variation to secure the pinfall and regain the AEW World Championship.
With the win, MJF not only becomes a three-time AEW World Champion but also avoids the stipulation that would have cost him his hair.
