Countdown to Elimination Chamber

– Peter Rosenber is with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and he asks if he thought this match would continue through today.

Paul says they thought it was a cool concept but after seeing the structure, they regretted it.  They felt the match was special and launched a new franchise with it.  There is an incredible legacy with this match.  It set the template for what would come with it. He says you cannot prepare for this match.  You are constantly prepped and you ramp things up on the Road to Wrestlemania.  The chain is unforgiving.  The grates are unforgiving.  The pods are unforgiving.  You hope to make it through the match.

Peter asks who has the most to prove in the women’s match.

Paul says everyone feels the need to prove to others or to themselves.  They want to keep striving for that next thing and that is what makes them great.  Tiffany wants to prove she isin’t a fluke.  Raquel and Kiana are looking to prove they belong.

– Cathy Kelley is backstage with Alexa Bliss and asks about her game plan, with Alexa admitting she hasn’t won in a long time but saying her strategy hasn’t changed — you survive, you use the Chamber to your advantage, and you outlast everyone — adding that she hopes tonight is finally her moment. When asked about Charlotte, Alexa says Charlotte told her she’s fine and handling everything, and that she’s simply there to boost her confidence.

– Michael Cole shifts the focus to AJ Lee returning to Chicago to wrestle, noting he spoke with her earlier and that many people never expected her to come back.

AJ says she didn’t expect it either, explaining that when she’s done with something she’s usually done for good, but one day “no” turned into “maybe,” and she realized it would eventually become “yes,” revealing she originally retired due to injury and that it also took a toll on her mental health.

Cole asks why Becky Lynch was the opponent who drew her back, and AJ says Becky chose her by going after her husband and perhaps thinking it would lure her out of retirement, admitting she doesn’t know if she would have returned for anyone else and calling Becky her Mount Everest.

When Cole brings up how personal it’s become, AJ says she could have had a one-off match at Wrestlepalooza and walked away, but seeing Becky bully people changed things, saying this business has become a beautiful place and someone needs to stop people like Becky, bluntly adding that she wants to beat her face in.

Asked what Chicago means to her, AJ reflects on receiving a Cinderella-like homecoming there and winning her first title in the city, and when Cole asks what another championship would represent, she says there was a time she felt like she built a house but never truly lived in it, and now she wants to prove she’s still championship material.

– Corey Graves had the opportunity to speak with Finn Balor. Corey asked Finn about his first night on RAW, when he defeated Roman Reigns and then went on to win the Universal Championship at SummerSlam. He wanted to know how Finn responds to those who claim he peaked at that moment.

Finn said he is not doing this for the critics. He insisted that no matter where he is placed on the card, he will shine.

Corey then asked what Finn meant when he described himself as feeling like an afterthought.

Finn admitted he might be partly to blame because of how he was raised. The squeaky wheel gets the grease, and now, he said, it is time for him to get the grease.

Corey brought up Finn’s match in Belfast and asked why he believes tonight is the night.

Finn acknowledged that it was Punk’s night in Belfast, but said it could just as easily have been his. Whenever an opportunity presents itself, he proves he can stand toe-to-toe with the so-called best in the world.

Corey then questioned where Finn stands with Punk.

Finn said he respects him, but Punk is standing in his way. Punk has yet to face the real Finn Balor. Leaving Punk laid out was exactly what Punk would have done to him—Finn simply got there first.

Finally, Corey asked if Finn understands what a win tonight would mean and whether it would define his legacy.

Finn responded that one match does not define a legacy. He admitted there has been a stain on his career, with people constantly asking “what if.” Tonight, he plans to answer the critics, rewrite the narrative, and prove that he can be champion.

– Byron Saxton caught up with Trick Williams. Byron asked whether Trick feels any nerves heading into the Chamber match. Trick said he recognizes greatness, but if he spends time worrying about what everyone else brings to the table, he will not win. He explained that his focus has to remain on himself. He wants the gold, and that is the only thing worth talking about.

– Elsewhere, Cathy Kelley spoke with Kiana James. Cathy asked how Kiana plans to secure a victory tonight. Kiana responded that everyone inside the Chamber is a threat — including herself. She said she was not surprised when she pinned Charlotte. The real question, she added, is how everyone will react when she defeats five of the top women in the division. According to Kiana, this outcome is inevitable — and so is she.

2026 WWE Elimination Chamber Lineup

  • Men’s Elimination Chamber: Randy Orton vs LA Knight vs Cody Rhodes vs Je’Von Evans vs Trick Williams vs Logan Paul (replacing Jey Uso)
  • Women’s Elimination Chamber: Tiffany Stratton vs Rhea Ripley vs Alexa Bliss vs Asuka vs Kiana James vs Raquel Rodriguez
  • World Heavyweight Championship: CM Punk (c) vs Finn Balor
  • Women’s Intercontinental Championship: Becky Lynch (c) vs AJ Lee

WWE will present the 2026 Elimination Chamber premium live event this Saturday from the United Center in Chicago, Illinois, featuring two championship bouts and both the men’s and women’s Chamber matches as the road to WrestleMania 42 reaches a critical turning point.

The World Heavyweight Championship will be on the line as CM Punk defends against Finn Bálor. Punk defeated Bálor in Northern Ireland in January, but this time the champion competes on home turf in Chicago. With Roman Reigns already selecting Punk as his WrestleMania opponent, the “Second City Saint” must survive one more challenge from Bálor to secure his place in the main event in Las Vegas.

In the second title match of the night, AJ Lee challenges Becky Lynch for the Women’s Intercontinental Championship. Since returning to WWE last September after a decade away, Lee has submitted Lynch twice with the Black Widow — first at Wrestlepalooza in mixed tag action and again at WarGames. Lee invoked those victories when issuing her challenge earlier this month, setting the stage for one of the most anticipated women’s matches of the year.

The Men’s Elimination Chamber Match will determine who faces Undisputed WWE Champion Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania. The field includes Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton, Trick Williams, Je’Von Evans, LA Knight, and Jey Uso. Rhodes’ rivalry with McIntyre has only intensified since losing the title in a Three Stages of Hell Match, and a Chamber victory would give him one more shot at redemption.

The Women’s Elimination Chamber Match will decide who challenges WWE Women’s Champion Jade Cargill at WrestleMania. With Liv Morgan officially choosing Stephanie Vaquer as her WrestleMania opponent, the Chamber winner will earn the remaining women’s world title opportunity. The participants are Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Raquel Rodriguez, Kiana James, Tiffany Stratton, and Rhea Ripley, creating a field stacked with former champions and rising stars.
