Jey stopped the attempt with quick, sharp elbows before lifting Miz onto his shoulders and dropping him onto the top turnbuckle. With momentum fully shifting, Jey followed with a spear that drove Miz to the mat. He closed the match with a clean frog splash that secured the three count and moved him into the next round.
The second match brought a surprise twist as Matt Cardona revived his former WWE persona, Zack Ryder, for a showdown with LA Knight. Ryder’s return drew a strong reaction, and the match quickly turned into a competitive back-and-forth meeting. Ryder pushed the pace and showed flashes of his earlier WWE run, while Knight used his power and trademark timing to stay in control. In the closing sequence, Knight attempted a kick, and Ryder countered with a rollup to escape the BFT. Ryder then leapt from the turnbuckles, but Knight caught him in midair and delivered a solid powerbomb. With Ryder stunned, Knight connected with the BFT and secured the win, advancing to the second round.
Later in the show, SmackDown General Manager Nick Aldis revealed the next pair of opening-round tournament matches. The bracket will continue with Carmelo Hayes vs Bronson Reed and Penta vs Finn Bálor, adding more intrigue to a lineup already drawing attention from WWE fans.
