Stephanie Vaquer Denies Injury Rumors – Stephanie Vaquer has cleared up speculation surrounding her status ahead of next weekend’s Wrestlepalooza, where she will face IYO SKY for the vacant WWE Women’s World Championship.
Speaking with Adrian Hernandez in Las Vegas before Friday’s WWE special announcement, Vaquer addressed the conflicting reports about her condition and made it clear that she is not injured.
“No, I saw social media. Sometimes, many things are not real. There’s no injuries. I’m ready for Raw next Monday, so no. No injury,” Vaquer said.
The rumors began earlier this week when a contract signing between SKY and Vaquer was canceled on RAW. General Manager Adam Pearce told SKY that “something was up” with her opponent, leaving her status unclear. Nikki Bella interrupted the segment to seek clarification, but Pearce ultimately stated he saw “no reason” the title match at Wrestlepalooza would not take place.
Dave Meltzer later reported on Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE officials told him Vaquer was dealing with a “minor injury,” while Bryan Alvarez said he had heard there was no injury at all. The conflicting accounts added to the speculation, though Vaquer herself has now dismissed the concerns directly.
Vaquer is scheduled to wrestle this Tuesday on WWE NXT as she teams with Rhea Ripley and Tiffany Stratton against Fatal Influence (Jacy Jayne, Fallon Henley, and Jazmyn Nyx) at the NXT Homecoming special. Just days later, she will compete against SKY at Wrestlepalooza for the vacant championship, which Naomi relinquished last month due to pregnancy.
In addition, Vaquer is set to take part in WWE’s special announcement this Friday in Las Vegas, where several major names are also advertised to appear.
