Chris Jericho Open to WWE Return – Chris Jericho has addressed the speculation surrounding his future, making it clear that while he remains committed to AEW right now, he hasn’t ruled out a return to WWE somewhere down the line.
Speaking with The Daily Mail, Jericho reflected on the state of the wrestling industry and the benefits of having multiple major companies competing for talent.
“The best thing that can happen in wrestling is AEW. And the fact that there’s two huge promotions that you can choose from just makes it better for the guys, it makes it better for the fans, and everybody in between,” Jericho said. “So I’m not going anywhere for a while, I’m still with AEW for right now. Would I go back to WWE? I wouldn’t be opposed to it. We just have to see what happens. But the best thing that can happen is that you have two great teams that you can play for, and that just makes everything bigger and more exciting.”
Jericho’s contract with AEW is set to expire at the end of this year, leaving him as one of the biggest potential free agents in the industry. It was reported that some within AEW believe Jericho could make his way back to WWE once his current deal is up, though nothing is certain.
The former AEW World Champion has been absent from television since April, opting to take time off after years of being one of the company’s most prominent stars. His comments suggest he is open to exploring options but is in no rush to make a decision.
Jericho remains a pivotal figure in professional wrestling, having been instrumental in AEW’s launch while also holding a Hall of Fame-worthy legacy in WWE. Whether he decides to continue with AEW, return to WWE, or even pursue other opportunities, his next move will be one of the most closely watched stories as 2025 winds down.
