Chris Jericho Reportedly Drawing Strong WWE Interest – Speculation over Chris Jericho’s future continues to grow, with multiple reports suggesting there is strong interest from within WWE to bring back the former world champion once his AEW contract ends.
According to PWInsider, internal discussions have taken place in WWE about a possible Jericho return. The site noted that several talents believe Jericho has already reached out to gauge whether WWE would be open to talks if and when he becomes available.
A follow-up from WrestleVotes Radio added further weight to the story, reporting that people within WWE — including active talent — expect a deal to eventually happen. “Despite spending the last six years with AEW, Jericho has remained friendly with a number of people inside WWE, we are told, and according to that source, they ultimately do expect a deal to be completed once Chris is legally able to do so,” the report stated.
This comes after the Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that some within AEW do not expect Jericho to re-sign with the company, with speculation even hinting at a surprise Royal Rumble return. Jericho’s AEW contract is believed to run through the end of 2025, which would prevent any official talks until closer to its expiration.
Fueling the rumors further, Jericho has not appeared on AEW programming since April. His extended absence and recent activity on social media — including liking a post about a potential WWE comeback — have only intensified speculation about where his career may head next.
If Jericho does return, it would mark his first WWE run since 2018 and could set the stage for one of the most high-profile comebacks in recent years.
