Update on Orange Cassidy’s AEW Return – Orange Cassidy may be on his way back to AEW television after months on the sidelines. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the former AEW International Champion is expected to return to the ring “somewhat soon” as he recovers from a torn pectoral muscle.
Dave Meltzer reported that Cassidy is closing in on his comeback, confirming earlier news from Fightful Select, which revealed that Cassidy had already been medically cleared and would be back “sooner than later.”
“Freshly Squeezed” has not wrestled since March 2025, when he suffered the torn pec that required surgery. The injury forced him to take his longest break from AEW since joining the company, halting his momentum after an extended run as one of the most featured performers on the roster.
Cassidy’s return will be a much-needed boost for AEW, especially with several top names currently out of action. Both Will Ospreay and former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland are sidelined with injuries that are expected to keep them away for significant stretches. Bringing Cassidy back into the mix provides AEW with another established star to help carry storylines and bolster upcoming cards.
His comeback also comes at a crucial time, with AEW’s All Out pay-per-view scheduled for September 20. While it has not been confirmed whether Cassidy will compete at the event, the timing of his recovery suggests he could be involved in some capacity.
