Update on HOOK, No Return Date Set – AEW star HOOK is currently out of action after reportedly suffering a concussion, with no confirmed timeline for his in-ring return.
According to Fightful Select, the “Cold Hearted Handsome Devil” has not been medically cleared to compete following the injury, which occurred during his last match in April.
The injury reportedly took place when HOOK teamed up with Samoa Joe in a tag match against Blackpool Combat Club members Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta. During the match, HOOK was said to have appeared visibly unwell, and the report now clarifies that he sustained a concussion during the bout.
Despite being sidelined, HOOK briefly appeared during the chaotic Anarchy in the Arena match at Double or Nothing. However, the report emphasizes that this cameo was purely for storyline purposes and occurred while he was still not cleared for physical activity.
HOOK’s absence is particularly notable given his role in AEW’s younger roster development. A two-time FTW Champion, he held the title originally introduced to AEW by his father, ECW legend Taz. Since his debut, HOOK has earned a strong following for his unique charisma, calm demeanor, and suplex-heavy offense.
His current health setback halts his growing momentum and leaves a gap in AEW’s youth movement. The promotion has yet to announce any official plans regarding his recovery or return. As of now, fans will have to wait for further medical updates before HOOK can resume in-ring competition.
