Roman Reigns Returns to RAW in Shocking Post-Gauntlet Showdown – Roman Reigns made a thunderous return to WWE television during the closing moments of the July 14 episode of RAW, marking his first on-screen appearance since the night after WrestleMania 41.
The former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion appeared just moments after CM Punk won a hard-fought Gauntlet Match to earn a World Heavyweight Championship match against Gunther at SummerSlam. Punk secured the win by pinning Bron Breakker, but the celebration was short-lived.
As Punk tried to regroup post-match, Bron Breakker delivered a vicious spear to Jey Uso—who had interfered earlier to even the odds—and followed up with another to Punk. Bronson Reed, who had previously helped Breakker during the gauntlet, prepared to finish the beatdown with a double Tsunami splash. But the arena erupted as Roman Reigns’ music hit, and the self-proclaimed “Original Tribal Chief” stormed down to the ring.
Reigns immediately dropped Reed with a Superman Punch, then turned his attention to Breakker. As Reed attempted to retaliate, Reigns countered with a Samoan Drop. He then rocked Breakker with another Superman Punch before leveling the young powerhouse with a spear.
With the ring cleared, Reigns extended his hand to help Jey Uso to his feet and then stood side-by-side with CM Punk as the show faded to black—a powerful moment that left fans buzzing about potential future alliances or confrontations.
This marks Roman Reigns’ first appearance on WWE programming since April 7, the RAW after WrestleMania 41, when he was taken out by Seth Rollins and Bron Breakker in the aftermath of their triple threat title match. At WrestleMania 41, Reigns battled Rollins and Punk, ultimately losing after Paul Heyman betrayed both men to align with Rollins.
Reigns’ return throws a new dynamic into the SummerSlam buildup, especially given his history with Punk, Breakker, and the larger bloodline saga somehow still unfolding. His presence also raises questions about where his loyalty lies and whether this marks the beginning of a full-fledged comeback or just a warning to those who crossed him.
During his time off WWE TV, Reigns has been linked to a major role as Akuma in the upcoming Street Fighter movie, expanding his presence in the entertainment world beyond wrestling.
