AJ Styles Confirmed for TNA Slammiversary – After days of speculation fueled by TNA Wrestling head Carlos Silva, it’s now official—AJ Styles will appear at this Sunday’s Slammiversary pay-per-view.
The confirmation came during this week’s episode of Impact, where a vignette aired showing a dusty ring jacket—clearly resembling Styles’ signature gear—sitting in a TNA-branded bin. A mysterious hand brushed the dust off the jacket, signaling the return of a TNA original. While Styles’ name or image was never directly shown, the teaser left no doubt about who was being referenced.
At this time, it remains unclear whether Styles will compete or simply make an appearance. The 48-year-old WWE star last wrestled on a mid-June episode of RAW against JD McDonagh, and has publicly said he’d be open to wrestling again in TNA. Regardless of his role, this appearance is part of the ongoing multi-year partnership between WWE and TNA Wrestling.
Styles, one of the cornerstones of early TNA history, debuted for the promotion on its second-ever NWA-TNA pay-per-view in June 2002 and spent more than a decade there, earning a reputation as one of the most influential performers in the company’s history.
During his TNA tenure, Styles won numerous titles, including:
- Two-time TNA World Heavyweight Champion
- Six-time X-Division Champion
- Two-time Tag Team Champion
- Two-time King of the Mountain Champion
His last match in TNA was in December 2013, a no disqualification loss to then-TNA World Champion Nick Aldis (then competing as Magnus).
Although Styles has previously been considered for TNA’s Hall of Fame, WWE reportedly blocked the move in 2024. That was before the WWE–TNA working relationship became official earlier this year, opening the door to potential honors or further involvement going forward.
Slammiversary 2025 is set for this Sunday and will now feature the return of one of the most iconic names in TNA history.
