Matt Riddle Calls Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn Difficult to Work With – Matt Riddle recently shared his thoughts on some of his toughest in-ring opponents during an appearance on Going Ringside (via News4JAX). While he acknowledged Sheamus as the hardest-hitting competitor he has faced, he also described him as easy to work with. However, he had a different perspective on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, citing difficulties in communication.
“When I think about who’s harder to maybe work with, I’d have to say Sami Zayn or Kevin Owens because it’s hard to put a complete sentence together with those guys, if you know what I’m saying,” Riddle remarked. “Yeah, they’re difficult. Sheamus hits you hard, but it’s easy to put together.”
Riddle’s comments suggest that while Sheamus brings a physically intense style, collaborating with him on matches was straightforward. On the other hand, he implied that working with Owens and Zayn presented challenges outside of the ring, particularly in structuring their matches.
WWE released Riddle in September 2023 as part of a series of talent cuts. Since then, he has been active on the independent scene and has made a name for himself in Major League Wrestling (MLW). Currently, he holds the MLW World Heavyweight Championship and is set to defend his title at MLW Battle Riot VII.
Despite his departure from WWE, Riddle remains a high-profile figure in wrestling, continuing to compete regularly while building his reputation outside of the company.
