Massive Uncertainty Backstage Ahead Of WWE Crown Jewel In Saudi Arabia

WWE internal staff and production teams are reportedly dealing with extreme backstage uncertainty as the company prepares for Crown Jewel on November 7. Despite public promotion, questions remain regarding whether the event will take place in Saudi Arabia as scheduled.

WrestleVotes shared insights from a veteran WWE source regarding the current mood within the company. According to the report, employees responsible for planning and travel logistics remain in limbo without clear direction.

Extreme Backstage Uncertainty

The source detailed how the ongoing chaos in the region has left staff waiting on a moment’s notice for potential travel adjustments or venue changes.

“This is a guy I was talking to Saturday night — very knowledgeable, been in WWE for a long time, and has a good pulse on what’s going on there. It is absolute disarray within the people who work there. Everything, including going into this PLE, not knowing if it’s happening or if it’s gonna move. Waiting on a moment’s notice to see if things are changed,” WrestleVotes reported.

Safety Concerns And Executive Decisions

The report highlighted that final determinations rest at the highest corporate levels, leaving staff and performers feeling helpless regarding travel safety and international logistics.

“It’s really from the top down where these decisions are gonna be made. The fact that everything going on with Saudi Arabia is chaotic and dangerous, and the potential of talent being sent over there in planes — God forbid something happens to them — the situation is really scary. It’s a very helpless feeling to not have any safeguards in place,” WrestleVotes added.

Despite the internal unease, General Entertainment Authority chairman Turki Alalshikh continues to actively promote the event, including the advertised Roman Reigns vs. Sami Zayn clash for the WWE Crown Jewel Championship. TKO executive Ari Emanuel previously confirmed that leadership monitors the situation daily while evaluating alternative options if a location shift becomes necessary.

Current WWE Crown Jewel Status

  • Official Event Schedule: WWE Crown Jewel is currently still officially set for November 7 at Riyadh Season Stadium.
  • No Official Adjustments: WWE has not issued any official statement regarding a venue relocation or cancellation for the premium live event.
  • Crew Still Awaiting Word: Talent and production staff tasked with making the international flight remain waiting for definitive confirmation on final travel arrangements.
