The Rock Responds To WWE Internal Reactions Over PAC Tribute & AEW Praise

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is standing firmly behind the emotional tribute he released following the passing of former WWE and AEW star PAC (Benjamin Satterley). After reports emerged indicating that individuals within WWE were taken aback by his decision to openly praise All Elite Wrestling and Tony Khan, Johnson responded directly to explain his perspective.

The discussion originated when reports stated that several people within WWE were caught off guard by the wording of Johnson’s video message. While the locker room and management respected him honoring PAC, questions were raised internally regarding his decision to publicly praise AEW and refer to Tony Khan as a friend, given Johnson’s high-profile role on the Board of Directors at TKO Group Holdings.

Commenting on an Instagram post, Johnson addressed the report and emphasized that tragic moments transcend promotional rivalries.

“You’re right brother, and humanity matters to me,” Johnson wrote.

Having grown up in the professional wrestling industry, Johnson explained that a colleague’s passing supersedes boardroom optics or promotional rivalries:

“I was born into this business and I’ve seen it all, but when one of our own passes away, I don’t care nor do I see ‘our competition’, I care about the wrestlers and how it affects them,” Johnson added. “I’ve been there. To me, humanity matters most.”

By addressing the report head-on, Johnson made it clear that honoring a fallen wrestler and supporting the locker room will always take precedence over tribalism or corporate politics.
