Jon Moxley Shares Moving Final Story About PAC After AEW Dynamite Off-Air

Following the emotional conclusion of the September 30 special PAC Tribute edition of AEW Dynamite at the Petersen Events Center in Pittsburgh, PA, Jon Moxley took the microphone to deliver a heartfelt off-air address to the live crowd.

Moxley thanked the fans for their support on a difficult night honoring the late Benjamin Satterley before sharing a memorable quote that defined PAC’s mindset toward wrestling and life.

Pittsburgh Crowd Addressed Following Emotional Broadcast

Moxley opened his address by acknowledging the unique atmosphere inside the arena and expressing gratitude to those in attendance:

“Thank you, Pittsburgh, for tonight. I know this wasn’t what anybody expected when they bought a pair of wrestling tickets, but this was something really special. Thank you for sharing it with us.”

Addressing the difficulty everyone faced throughout the evening in processing the loss, Moxley admitted he lacked elaborate speechcraft, preferring instead to share a favorite memory involving “The Bastard”:

“A lot of people tonight tried to put into words something when there is no words and I don’t have anybody, I don’t have any special or smart or genius words for the situation where there are no words. But I wanted to share this one thing that PAC said one time that was one of the most, one of my favorite lines anybody’s ever said specific to us.”

The Sauna Promo & PAC’s Defining Quote

Moxley recalled a backstage segment filmed in his basement where the Death Riders decided to shoot a promo with PAC sitting inside a sauna:

“We thought it was funny for him to be sitting in a sauna just sweating, being a bstard, miserable in a sauna and describing who we are, what this team is, what we do every single day.”*

It was during that promo session that PAC delivered the line that stuck with Moxley ever since:

“And he said, forgive my language, he said, ‘We are professionals who give a sht.’”*

Moxley reflected on how deeply that simple declaration resonated with him and the entire locker room:

“And it’s probably my favorite thing anybody has ever said and it’s what we aspire to. It’s just a cooler, funner way to say what we aspire to every single day.”

A Message Beyond Professional Wrestling

Moxley then expanded on PAC’s philosophy, encouraging the fans in Pittsburgh to apply that same level of passion and intent to their own lives:

“And not everybody’s a pro wrestler. Maybe you do something else. But whatever you do with your time while you’re here every single day, give a sht. Do what you got. If you’re going to cook an omelet, if you’re going to go to your job, if you’re going to pick your kids up from school and take them to the park, whatever it is you do, do it with purpose and give a sht.”

He closed his address with a message centered on gratitude and community:

“Do it with purpose and gratitude. Surround yourself with people that you love that also give a sht about the same things that you do and that I don’t know, cause I don’t know anything but that might be the key to life.”*

The off-air speech capped off a night filled with tributes across the entire broadcast. Among the in-ring homages, Will Ospreay executed PAC’s iconic Black Arrow finishing maneuver to secure a pinfall victory over Ricochet during their featured match.
