Kevin Owens Vows to End CM Punk’s Career at WWE Money in the Bank

Ahead of Saturday’s high-stakes Money in the Bank premium live event at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana, Kevin Owens has made his personal intentions abundantly clear: winning the briefcase is secondary to destroying CM Punk.

The 2026 Men’s Money in the Bank ladder match features a stacked six-man lineup comprised of Owens, CM Punk, Bron Breakker, Je’Von Evans, Trick Williams, and Penta. While the rest of the field is focused on securing a guaranteed world championship match, Owens is approaching the ladder match with a personal vendetta against “The Second City Saint.”

Speaking with Cathy Kelley during a sit-down interview on Money in the Bank Countdown, Owens pulled no punches when describing his disdain for Punk and his ultimate objective inside the ring.

“I’m going into this ladder match with a lot of different goals. One of them, the biggest one, is to hopefully end scumbag CM Punk’s career. I don’t like him. I will never like him. I don’t want him around. I don’t want him in my locker room. I don’t want him on my shows. The fans can love him, and it’s fine. I understand, but they don’t know him. I want to get rid of him to make WWE a better place. Once I do that, nothing will stop me from climbing that ladder, not Je’Von Evans, not Penta, not Trick Williams, not Bron Breakker, not even gravity.”

In addition to addressing his rivalry with Punk, Owens outlined how he plans to handle the briefcase should he capture it for a second time. The former Universal Champion noted that he intends to announce his cash-in in advance for a fair WWE Championship match, desiring to leave behind any lingering controversy surrounding his 2016 title victory and prove his standing at the top of the card.

The deep-seated animosity between Owens and Punk adds a volatile element to an already chaotic ladder match format. With both men set to collide inside the Smoothie King Center alongside four hungry competitors, their unresolved personal issues threaten to derail both of their championship aspirations.

WrestlingAttitude.com will have live coverage of the Money in the Bank this Saturday, beginning at 6pm ET.
