Jay White Sidelined Again With Undisclosed Injury

Jay White is heading back to the sidelines after AEW announced during the October 3 broadcast of AEW Collision that “The Switchblade” is injured and expected to be out of in-ring action for up to two months.

Announcer Tony Schiavone revealed on air that White sustained the injury at AEW All Out. The timing is a brutal blow for the Bang Bang Gang leader, who had only recently worked his way back into regular competition after an extended stretch of physical setbacks.

White’s most recent appearance came on September 26 at AEW Tailgate Brawl, where he teamed alongside Ace Austin, Austin Gunn, and Colten Gunn in an eight-man tag team match. AEW has not yet disclosed the specific nature of this latest medical issue.

A Frustrating Two-Year Run Of Physical Setbacks

This latest announcement continues a deeply frustrating string of injury issues that have repeatedly stalled White’s momentum over the last two years.

  • Summer 2024: A legitimate injury suffered following his July 6 match against Hangman Page forced the Bang Bang Gang to vacate their AEW World Trios Championship and kept White out for months.
  • Spring 2025: White suffered a broken hand during a March 29 match against Kevin Knight that required surgery and pulled him from the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament.
  • Late 2025–Early 2026: Complications arose during his hand recovery when White required surgery to address a long-standing shoulder injury, keeping him out of action for over a year and derailing major creative plans involving the Death Riders.

White finally earned medical clearance in 2026, making a down-to-the-wire comeback ahead of Forbidden Door in June before competing in the Continental Cup. Now, just 10 matches into his return, the faction leader faces another 1–2 month hiatus as fans wait to see if he can make it back inside the ring before the end of 2026.
