All four men brawled early, with Connors targeting Cage’s wrist and isolating him from his partner. The challengers kept control through double-team offense, even taking the fight to the outside where they attempted to injure Cage further using the steel steps.
Copeland eventually created an opening by taking out Connors near the commentary desk, allowing Cage to recover. After a low blow to Finlay, Cage made the tag, and Copeland entered with momentum, delivering a series of offensive moves, including an impaler. The challengers answered back with a chop-block and spear combination and attempted to finish the match with their Full Clip setup, but the move was countered.
The closing stretch featured rapid exchanges and near-falls. Finlay avoided a spear attempt, but Copeland recovered and lifted him, setting up a mid-air spear from Cage. Moments later, the referee was taken out during the action, removing any immediate count.
