AEW President Tony Khan provided a critical, positive update regarding Steven Borden during the AEW All Out 2026 post-show media scrum, confirming that all initial hospital scans have returned clean following his terrifying mid-air collision earlier in the night.
Borden—teaming alongside Darby Allin against Kevin Knight and Kyle Fletcher of the Don Callis Family in a number-one contender’s match for the AEW World Tag Team Championship—was stretchered out of the Now Arena after landing hard on his head and neck.
“All The Tests Have Come Back Good”
Opening the post-show press conference, Khan addressed the situation head-on, delivering relief to fans and locker room peers alike:
- Hospital Scans Clear: Borden underwent a comprehensive CT scan and neurological evaluation at a local Chicago-area medical center.
- Discharge Anticipated: Khan revealed that Borden remains fully conscious, responsive, and alert, with medical staff preparing to clear him for travel:
“I have a great update. Thankfully, Steven Borden, awake, responsive at the hospital and he had a CT scan and all the tests have come back good. So far, all good results and we’re hopeful Steven’s gonna be able to fly home tomorrow to his family.”
The Stoppage
The incident occurred when Borden and Knight launched themselves from opposing turnbuckles for a simultaneous cross-body spot. The mid-air impact forced Borden back-first onto the canvas, causing his head to snap back against the mat. AEW official Bryce Remsburg and ringside physician Dr. Michael Sampson immediately halted the contest, awarding the victory and title opportunity to Fletcher and Knight by doctor stoppage.
