Update on Bryan Danielson In-Ring Future Following Surprise AEW Return

Update on Bryan Danielson In-Ring Status Following Surprise AEW Return at PAC Tribute Show

An update on Bryan Danielson’s AEW Status reveals he’s not expected to spark a full-time in-ring run following PAC tribute episode of Dynamite.

Bryan Danielson’s surprise return to the ring during the PAC tribute edition of AEW Dynamite does not appear to be the beginning of another full-time run.

The former AEW World Champion returned to in-ring competition on the September 30 episode, but his appearance was planned as a one-night return from the start. Danielson’s involvement was specifically connected to honoring PAC following his unexpected passing.

Danielson came out of retirement to compete in a multi-person match after numerous AEW wrestlers volunteered to take part in the special episode. His return provided another emotional moment during a Dynamite that was heavily reshaped to pay tribute to PAC.

Despite stepping back into the ring, there is currently no indication that Danielson is set to become a regular part of AEW’s television programming again. As things stand, his appearance was intended exclusively for the PAC tribute show.

Bryan Danielson Returned to Honor PAC

Tony Khan dramatically changed the original plans for AEW Dynamite following PAC’s passing. With so many wrestlers wanting to contribute to the tribute, the AEW CEO scrapped much of the previously scheduled show.

Among those who wanted to participate were Danielson, Kenny Omega and Mercedes Moné. The changes resulted in a special episode built around tribute matches and memorial segments honoring PAC.

Danielson’s decision to return to competition was therefore part of that larger effort. Rather than signaling that he has decided to resume his wrestling career, the appearance was made specifically for the tribute.

For fans hoping Danielson’s return could lead to another extended AEW run, that does not appear to be the case at this time. His surprise appearance was a special exception made to honor PAC and allow Danielson to be part of an important night for the AEW roster.

Unless plans change in the future, Danielson’s return to the AEW ring should be viewed as a one-night appearance rather than the beginning of another chapter in his in-ring career.
