Amazing Red Makes History: Wins X-Division Championship at TNA Bound For Glory Hours After Hall of Fame Induction

Just over an hour after taking his rightful place in the TNA Hall of Fame, Amazing Red pulled off one of the most stunning and emotional comeback stories in professional wrestling history at TNA Bound for Glory 2026.

The high-stakes drama unfolded during the second match of the evening at the Yuengling Center in Tampa, Florida, where a scramble for the vacant TNA X-Division Championship took place. The title was left vacant after Leon Slater exercised “Option C,” relinquishing the belt to challenge Nic Nemeth for the TNA World Championship later in the night.

While the bout was originally scheduled as a six-way match, Amazing Red blew the roof off the arena during his Hall of Fame speech earlier in the afternoon by announcing that he was stepping out of retirement to enter the fray himself.

Turning the contest into a chaotic seven-man free-for-all, the veteran high-flyer proved he hasn’t lost a step. In the climax of the match, Red connected with his signature Code Red on KC Navarro, securing the pinfall victory to become a four-time TNA X-Division Champion.

The triumph carries incredible historical weight. Red had not held the X-Division Championship since September 25, 2010, marking a staggering gap of over 16 years between his third and fourth reigns. Going from an emotional Hall of Fame induction to capturing championship gold on the very same night cements the moment as one of the greatest full-circle highlights in company history.
